Pumpkins, fairs, and haunted houses… Oh my! These are just a few of the “fang”tastic events going on that you don’t want to miss. Keep reading to find out the top 10 ways to make this an October to remember in Dublin, GA.
1. Downtown Dublin’s First Friday Featuring Hocus Pocus
The first event this October is Downtown Dublin’s First Friday at Market on Madison. Food trucks and bouncy house fun will begin at 7:00pm on Friday, October 5th followed by an under the stars showing of Hocus Pocus. Grab your lawn chairs or blankets and get ready for the Sanderson sisters to put a spell on you. But don’t be afraid… It’s just a bunch of hocus pocus.
2. Georgia National Fair
If you’re looking for a day filled with livestock, Ferris wheels, and fair food, hop over to Perry, GA, home of the Georgia National Fair. The Georgia National Fair will be in town from October 4th- 14th. Gates will be open daily from 8:00am- 10:00pm. 3. Pumpkin Patch
What’s October without a pumpkin? Check out Downtown Dublin’s Pick-A-Pumpkin event at Market on Madison on Saturday, October 13th from 10:00am-6:00pm. Here, you will be able to choose the perfect pumpkin to take home and carve, use for decorating, or even to make your famous pumpkin pie! There will also be a hay bale maze, bouncy houses, and games for kids. Activities are free with the purchase of a pumpkin.
4. Dublin Civitan Fair
The fair is coming to town! Dublin Civitan Club’s Fall Fair will be going on Tuesday, October 16th- Saturday, October 20th from 6:00pm-10:00pm each night. We’re excited about this one… We can’t miss out on a good funnel cake!
5. Monster Dash Run
Get your costumes ready and join the other goblins and ghouls at Market on Madison on Saturday, October 20th beginning at 7:30am for the Monster Dash Run. You will be able to participate in the 5k, One Mile Race, or the One Mile Candy Walk (ages 10 and under). 6. Movie On The Lawn by Fairview Park Hospital
Once you’re done with the Monster Dash, catch the movie COCO playing on the lawn at Fairview Park Hospital. Activities will begin at 4pm and the movie will begin playing at dark. 7. Adopt A Shelter Dog Month
October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. If you are in search of your new best friend, consider adopting a pet from the Dublin Laurens County Humane Society. You can find photos of the dogs available for adoption on their Facebook Page. Once you adopt, make sure to sign them up for the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest (see #8)!
8. Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest
Grab your furry friend and enter them in the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest on Saturday, October 27th. Registration is $10 per dog and begins at 10:00am. Call 478-272-2560 for more information.
9. Masquerade Ball
Visit the Page House B & B on October 27th at 7:00pm for a Masquerade Ball with a Famous Couples theme. Reservations are $25.00 per person and can be made at 478-275-4551.
10. Haunted Montrose
